Disposed /YANG Chi-chu

Trawl fishing ground nets

Every and all species

In the sea

Fingerlings that are not yet adults

Caught and taken ashore

Then thrown back into the sea

Disposed

Live that are too fragile to survive

One-third of the annual catch

This was old news from 1977

Only later was there development of new types of nets

The percentage of fish species lost decreased

And yet we keep fantasizing

On the dinner table

Mackerel, swordfish, mackerel, anchovies

Are the only preys that fishermen catch

But we have been ignorant

Fish that don't belong on the table

dies

In their homeland

The sea becomes a landfill in an instant

Sometimes it is easy to throw them away

No pollution

Big fish can eat dead fingerlings

Seabirds can eat dead fingerlings

Turtles can eat dead fingerlings

Seems perfectly logical

But death is the beginning of the end

For the population

Large schools of the same species

In the same oceanic region

In the same net

Screened and thrown back into the sea

The smell of rotting fish carcasses

Is also in the

The same oceanic region

The same ocean currents

Half-floating half-sinking

Silently protesting

The sea finally leaves behind a sad

Curse

Every fish generation at the moment

They are about to become extinct

The rotting bloody water

Bright red and shocking
